It may sound cliché but the truth is, you get what you pay for. Renting a limousine for a night on the town or on your wedding day is a luxury experience, like selecting a 5-star hotel or restaurant, and is typically reserved for a special occasion. If your choice is based on price you run the risk of being taken advantage of, usually resulting in serious disappointment on that special day. Our passion is your satisfaction! At SD BlackCar you have professional drivers; our company is licensed and insured. Notice the stickers on our cars, we are in compliance with the rules of the State of California. In order to be picked up at the airport, and for security reasons, the Airport Authority has many rules for the cars, drivers and companies. They issue special decals. Beware of any car arriving to pick you up without permits. SD BlackCar is proud to provide clean, well maintained, properly licensed and permitted vehicles, driven by well trained professional chauffeurs who are courteous, prompt and helpful.

When shopping for a limousine service, what questions should I ask?  Any transportation company that is being run properly should be able to answer these questions:

1.  Do you have the proper licenses to operate a transportation company here in San Diego?
2.  Do your vehicles have the appropriate stickers? (Don’t be afraid to ask about permits).
3.  Are you fully insured? Don’t be afraid to ask for proof of “commercial insurance”.

If the price seems too good to be true or something doesn’t feel right, be sure to ask if you can view the vehicle.

What is the average cost to rent a limousine? Rental costs vary based on a variety of considerations. The specific cost for your limousine rental will depend on some of the items listed below:

1.  Time of the year (spring, summer, etc.)
2.  Type of vehicle (larger vehicles cost more)
3.  Day of week (weekends cost more, weekdays less)
4.  Distance traveled (longer travel times may be more expensive)

How much is gratuity and should I tip the driver?  The average gratuity is 15-20%. Be sure to ask, if it is not made clear. It is customary to budget a gratuity in your rental cost. Limousine chauffeurs earn their living by providing excellent service in exchange for gratuities, much like waiters do in fine dining establishments.
